San Antonio is more than just a location on a map for me and Paradise Custom Homes – it’s where it all began. My family has called this city home since the 1800s. The Bowman legacy of building started here, with my great-uncle and father constructing homes in the 1940s and 1950s when San Antonio was a very different place. My father was a pioneer, becoming the first contractor to undertake tilt-wall warehouse construction in Central Texas, setting a foundation of innovation and craftsmanship I strive to uphold.

My introduction to this craft was in San Antonio’s blistering summer heat, pouring concrete at 15, framing homes at 16, and installing roofs before I even graduated high school. These hands-on experiences taught me the ropes of construction, setting me on a path that would eventually lead me back here after college and a few ventures of my own. In 1999, the call of land development and the beckoning Hill Country brought me back to where I belonged.

As Paradise grew, our roots remained firmly planted on San Antonio’s north side, close to Bulverde, a part of the Hill Country that speaks to my core. Most of my trade partners and suppliers are nestled in the same region, and they carry the same San Antonio ethos into every project.

Working here isn’t just building homes—it’s continuing a craft and a tradition rich with family history. Our Hill Country builds are an extension of that San Antonio foundation, not something apart from it.
